Musée Carnavalet – History of Paris preserves 376 vintage silver prints, forming one of the most significant institutional holdings dedicated to Roger Schall's work. Donated by the photographer to the Museum in 1983, during his lifetime, the collection reflects the recognition of his unique vision as an essential visual record of Paris.

From the city's grand boulevards to its working-class neighbourhoods, from iconic landmarks to everyday street life, this remarkable ensemble traces more than three decades of a capital in transformation.
