Musée Zadkine

The Musée Zadkine preserves twenty-six original contact prints by Roger Schall within its archival collections dedicated to the life and work of sculptor Ossip Zadkine. Unlike museum acquisitions centred on photographic practice itself, these contact prints are preserved as documentary records, offering a direct visual testimony to one of the leading figures of the School of Paris and to the artistic milieu in which Roger Schall evolved.

These original contact prints illustrate Roger Schall's close relationship with the artistic avant-garde of twentieth-century Paris. Preserved alongside the archives, photographs and works associated with Zadkine, they provide valuable insight into the creative environment of the period and reinforce Roger Schall's role as one of its most perceptive visual witnesses.
